This exhibit celebrates and highlights the sabbatical projects of two Anne Arundel Community College Visual Arts Professors. Dawn Bond’s graphic novel project “Lostwood” explores her mothers life in rural North Dakota. Linsday Mculloch’s body of new paintings is a deep immersion into the nuances of abstraction.
ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Dawn C. Bond is a mixed media artist and educator. Currently working on a graphic novel, entitled, Lostwood, about her mom growing up in the 1940-1950s in rural North Dakota–a life of scarcity, isolation, hard work and grit. Dawn teaches visual art foundations courses at Anne Arundel Community College where she is an Associate Professor of Visual Arts.
Lindsay McCulloch received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts from the University of Virginia, and a Master of Fine Arts in painting from Boston University. Her work includes paintings, works on paper and artist books. McCulloch has exhibited her work internationally in England, Spain and Iraq. Her work has also been featured in museums and galleries across the United States including the Joel and Lila Harnett Museum of Art at the University of Richmond Museums in Richmond, VA; the Danforth Museum of Art in Framingham, MA; the American Poetry Museum in Washington, DC; Bowery Gallery in New York City, NY; Fraser Gallery in Bethesda, MD; Linda Matney Gallery in Williamsburg, VA; and the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, TX; among others. McCulloch holds various awards, including a Joan Mitchell Foundation Fellowship, a Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Fellowship for Painting, and the Art New England Award at the Boston Printmakers North American Print Biennial. Her work is featured in public and private collections in the United States and abroad, including the Iraq National Library in Baghdad, Iraq and the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas, TX. Mculloch is an Associate Professor of Visual Arts at AACC.
