Baltimore Office of Promotion & The Arts is seeking talented Teaching Artists to join the Bright StARTS program arts education team. Ideal candidates are practicing artists in the disciplines of dance, music, theatre,visual and culinaryartswhoarecommittedtoworkingwitheducatorsandyoungpeople.The Bright StARTS program brings high-quality arts enrichment to the youth of Baltimore City by working through established after-school, summer and at-risk youth centers. The program is currently accepting applicationsfordancers,creativewriters/poets,musicians,theatricalartists,andvisual artists with teaching experience or substantial training in teaching artistry. Applicants must demonstrate expertise workingasprofessionalartists,astrongcommitmenttoworkingwitheducatorsandyoung people, strong communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, an ability to facilitate group decision- making, an ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and a strong attention to detail.

SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

Qualified applicants should submit:

A. A cover letter and resume, or curriculum vitae, outlining relevant professional, artistic, and teaching experience.

B. Sample lesson plan.

C. Artistic Sample: Please share your own original, creative work in the arts discipline in which you work most frequently.

Acceptable artistic samples:

3-4 pages of poetry or prose (DOC or PDF format)
3-4 images (JPG or PDF format)
3-4 Productions/performances list with descriptions, dates, venues, etc. (DOC or PDF format) Links to creative portfolio and/or videos of performances online
