The Asian Arts & Culture Center (AA&CC) at Towson University is proud to present an exhibition that brings together the work of artists in Maryland who are Asian, Asian American, and whose work has been inspired by Asia to explore the rich connections among art, Asia, and Maryland. Through this exhibition and related programs, the AA&CC hopes to increase awareness and understanding of the diversity of Asian arts and culture in Maryland, while facilitating dialogue about Asian arts and aesthetics, cross-cultural exchange, and cultural identity.

Who is eligible?
All Maryland-based visual artists who are Asian, Asian American, or whose works are inspired by Asia.

What can I submit?
1 to 5 works. All 2 and 3 dimensional media welcome. Works must be original. PLEASE NOTE: This is a curated exhibit, and we may not be able to accommodate all pieces submitted. The AA&CC reserves the right to decline any submissions.

When is the exhibition?
Exhibition: September 7th-December 8th, 2018, Asian Arts Gallery, Center for the Arts, Towson University
Opening Reception: September 6th, 2018 7:30-9PM, Center for the Arts Atrium, Towson University

What is the submission deadline?
Entries may be submitted through February 15, 2018.

When will I be notified?
You will receive a notification from the AA&CC no later than March 15, 2018.

When does the gallery need my art work?
Accepted works must arrive at the Asian Arts Gallery, August 20 – 24, 2018, between the hours of 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. No works will be accepted outside of these times. Accepted artists will be contacted by AA&CC staff regarding delivery/pick-up/shipping logistics. Accepted work may not be withdrawn before the close of the exhibition on December 8, 2018.

How will my works be accepted?
Each accepted entry must be installation-ready with appropriate hanging hardware if needed and installation instructions, and clearly labeled with artist’s name and title of the work. Sculptures will be wall placed, on pedestals, or free standing. Test your framing/presentation before sending it.

Do I need to have my own insurance coverage for my works during the exhibition?
AA&CC will insure the works while on site for the insurance value indicated on the entries.

Will my works be photographed?
AA&CC may photograph the work for reproduction on AA&CC website, press releases and in social media.
