Community Foundation of the Lowcountry’s 2018 Public Art Exhibition on Hilton Head Island seeks proposals for large‐scale outdoor sculpture engaged in a contemporary conversation about art within a natural environment. The 2018 theme “Envisioning Connections” is intended to inspire submissions that foster a sense of discovery, exploration, interaction, recreation, education and an element of surprise within the beauty of the Lowcountry region. Artists are encouraged to consider the theme both broadly and personally, and interpret connections that can be made around ideas such as: people and place, history and future, local and global, humanity and nature, and the material and ephemeral worlds. The Exhibition will be held October 1, 2018 through January 31, 2019 at Coastal Discovery Museum. Up to 20 sculptures will be selected by jury based upon artistic excellence, innovation, interactivity, originality, and the work’s ability to interpret the exhibition’s theme. One piece will be selected for purchase. Click here to learn more.
