GALLERY ONE VISUAL ARTS CENTER announces their first national juried printmaking exhibition titled IN  PRINT. Accepted entries will be included in a month-long exhibition in May of 2015 in the beautifully restored Gallery One in downtown Ellensburg. Ellensburg is the heart of Washington State and 95 miles east of Seattle. Opportunities for lectures, workshops, and/or special events will be offered to chosen artists to accompany the exhibition. Gallery One houses four art galleries and IN PRINT will be featured in the Main Gallery and the Mezzanine Gallery. Please check our website www.gallery-one.org for more information.

 

Media:

 

 

    • traditional, non-traditional, and digital prints such as lithography, relief, intaglio, silkscreen and/or monotype

 

    • both 2D and 3D work (including artist’s books) are accepted

 

    • artwork cannot exceed 60” in any direction

 

    • giclees and photography are not eligible

 

 

Images: maximum of 6 artwork entries

 

Entry fee: $30 for up to 3 entries – $10 each additional artwork entry over 3

Awards:

 

 

    • $500 — Most Innovative Artwork

 

    • $400 — Best Use of Non-traditional Printmaking Processes

 

    • $400 — Best Use of Traditional Printmaking Processes

 

    • $200 — Award of Merit

 

    • a printed catalog for all exhibiting artists

 

    • a pdf of the catalog will be emailed to each applicant

 

 

Eligibility: Open to all printmakers 18 years and older residing in the USA. Accepted entries MUST be identical to submitted images or the work will not be exhibited. Acceptance implies the use of your images and your name in any printed or online publicity. All work must have been completed within the last three years, originals only (no reproductions), and cannot be completed under the direction of instructors.

 

Entry Guidelines:

 

 

    • all entries will be submitted through CallForEntry.org, also known as Café

 

    • digital images must be cropped to include artwork only, no frames, mountings or added text

 

    • images will not be accepted after 5pm, December 31, 2014, PST

 

    • email notifications will be sent to all entrants February 15, 2015

 

    • artists may not substitute, alter, change sales price, or withdraw work after it has been accepted

 

    • Gallery One reserves the right to refuse any entry which does not meet the criteria listed

 

    • artwork must be for sale and the Gallery commission is 40%

 

    • refunds will not be granted to applicants who do not meet the guidelines for entry

Jurors: We are pleased to announce a unique team of jurors including:

 

 

    • Fay Jones, painter/printmaker, internationally recognized artist, winner of numerous awards including two NEA individual artist grants, and co-owner of GoatHead Press in Tieton, WA

 

    • Barbara Robertson, artist/printmaker, international exhibitor, winner of numerous awards including the Neddy Award, and founder, former president, and board member of Seattle Print Arts, Seattle, WA

 

    • Robert A Fisher, artist/painter, winner of numerous awards, retired art professor from Yakima Valley Community College, and art historian

 

    • Renee Adams, artist/sculptor, founding member and board member of PUNCH Gallery in Seattle, winner of numerous awards including three-time recipient of Artist Trust Grants for Artist Projects, and Gallery One Exhibition and Publicity Coordinator.

 

 

All decisions of the jurors are final.

 

Accepted artwork:

 

 

    • 2D artwork must be matted/floated and framed with white/off white matts, ready to hang (wire, no sawtooth hangers)

 

    • All shipped 2D framed artwork must use Plexiglas — glass is not accepted unless hand delivered.

 

    • 3D artwork, including artist books, must include clear handling instructions

 

    • Special needs for displaying artwork must be pre-approved prior to shipping

 

    • Artist statements and high resolution Jpegs will be requested for the catalog

 

    • A loan agreement will be emailed with your acceptance and must accompany the artwork

 

    • Shipping address and information will be included in notification email

 

 

Shipping/Insurance:

Artists are responsible for round trip shipping and insurance (during shipping) of artworks. All shipments must include a prepaid return shipping label and be shipped in a container appropriate for reuse in return shipping. NO PACKING PEANUTS PLEASE. Gallery One will insure artworks for their retail value while on the premises.
