On Wednesday, July 28, Maryland Morning Screen Test welcomes filmmaker Catherine Pancake to The Windup Space in Baltimore. Pancake works in a wide range of styles, from narrative documentaries to abstract color studies accompanied by live music.

Tom Hall, arts and culture host of Maryland Morning with Sheilah Kast on Baltimore NPR member station WYPR 88.1, will have a conversation with Catherine Pancake, followed by a screening of several of her films and a Q&A with the audience. Part of the conversation will air a few days later on Maryland Morning.

This is the second in our monthly Maryland Morning Screen Test film series. On the last Wednesday of every month, the Screen Test brings a local filmmaker to The Windup Space in Baltimore. At our website, mdmorn.wordpress.com, you’ll find pictures and audio from the first Maryland Morning Screen Test, featuring Eric Dyer and his visually mesmerizing—and technically fascinating—experimental animation.
